OUR TEAM

  • Juliana C. McFadden

    Founder & CEO

Juliana ("Juli") McFadden received her paralegal certification at Roosevelt University in Chicago and today serves as a vice president and document specialist with one of America's largest banks. She is also a published author, author, and public speaker.

Juli was blissfully married to her wonderful husband, David, for 37 years until his passing on July 11, 2021. Juli and David have two beautiful daughters and six lovely granddaughters.

The journey that led Juli to establish SISTER Ministries, Inc., was a personal one. In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren writes:

"God wants you to have a Christ-like ministry on earth. That means other people are going to find healing in your wounds. Your greatest life message and your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts."

Juli’s story is a powerful testament to that truth. Click here to read Juli’s story and discover how God is using her life message to bring healing and hope to others.

  • Shereen Lashua

    Vice president | Biblical studies

Shereen Lashua has faithfully taught Bible study at SISTER Ministries for over 13 years. She penned Naked, Embarrassed, and Exposed; Then Put Something On!, a transformational book that, in fact, brought Shereen and Juli together, but also planted the seeds of their friendship and collaborative work in ministry. Each new SISTER receives a copy of this book at her first meeting.

Shereen presents the Word of God with integrity, passion, and applicability, and her messages encourage the women to deeply connect with Scripture. Away from work, Shereen is a wild diver who enjoys the seas. She often shares stories of her diving experiences to illustrate the beauty and perfection of God's creation.

Shereen is a mother of two sons and one daughter and grandmother of nine, and they're expecting another grandbaby soon. Read Shereen's letter on how SISTER Ministries fulfills the Great Commission.

  • Molly morrow

    Board Secretary

Molly joined SISTER Ministries in 2022 as Refreshments Coordinator and has since taken on the additional role of Board Secretary. Molly is an entrepreneur, running a home organizing business. She  married her godly husband, Josh in November, 2023. They also enjoy their 2 cats.

  • Josi Leyva

    Boutique Curator

Josi Leyva first came across SISTER Ministries accidentally on her way to a Bible study for women at the North Phoenix Church. Even though she soon realized she was in the wrong meeting, God already had already connected.

Later on, Josi met up with SISTER Ministries again after a Sunday service and expressed her heart for ministering to women in need. She had previously run a ministry of her own, gathering clothes and essentials to distribute freely—no strings attached. It was obvious that God had arranged her connection with SISTER through such seemingly random meetings.

Josi has over 40 years of experience in telecommunications. She is a graduate of the San Diego School of Aeronautics and is licensed as a fiber splicer and a design engineer with fiber-to-the-home infrastructure expertise. She retired in February 2024.

Josi is the mother of 45-year-old Andrew and Rudy, who tragically was killed at age 33 in a motorcycle accident. Her source of strength and hope is Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior for over 25 years ago.

  • Christina Kimbrel

SISTER Messenger Group - Devotional Leader

Christina Kimbrel began uploading daily devotionals from the early days of COVID-19 in the SISTER Messenger private group as spiritual encouragement from Monday to Friday. Her devotionals have now become a key element of the daily connection with God's Word in the ministry.

Christina joined SISTER Ministries on the day she was released from prison in December 2018. She was involved in service from day one, helping with monthly birthday parties and preparing meals for weekly meetings. She was the surprise guest speaker at the ministry's Christmas kick-off party in 2021.

A devoted wife to Henry and mother of two daughters, Christina is also a published author for Victorious Living Magazine.

  • Deb Van Alstine | Prayer Partner

Deb Van Alstine was saved as a believer in Jesus as her Lord and Savior in high school and later attended Grand Canyon University. Deb and her husband, Dan, met in 1978 and served together in full-time ministry for over 32 years in Tacoma, WA, and Mililani, HI churches.

Deb and Dan returned to Phoenix in 2014, where they began attending Royal Palms Baptist Church. Deb met Juli McFadden there and immediately became a dedicated prayer partner for SISTER Ministries. Her consistent prayer has been a source of spiritual encouragement for the women and leadership team.
