SISTER Ministries is rooted in these three foundational truths.
As a pioneer of this new model of ministry, devised for both pastors and laymen, it is the vision of SISTER Ministries to equip the Church to effectively minister to formerly incarcerated women.
The twofold mission of SISTER Ministries is to share the love of Jesus with formerly incarcerated women with the hope they come to know Him as their personal Savior and Lord of their lives, and address their physical, emotional, and mental health needs through a comprehensive network of community connections.
At SISTER Ministries, we are rooted in core biblical beliefs that shape our mission to serve women impacted by incarceration. Our Christian faith is based on the following foundational truths:
The Bible in its original languages is the divinely inspired, perfect Word of God-truth with no mixture of error;
The teaching of the Bible is the sole authority and basis of the Christian faith;
There is only one living and true God, who is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all perfections, and is the eternal triune God who has revealed Himself to humanity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
Jesus Christ is God’s son, both fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life on earth, died a physical death for the sins of all people, was resurrected to physical life again, and appeared to his disciples before ascending to Heaven where He now sits at God’s right hand;
God loves sinners and freely offers eternal life to all who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord;
All people have sinned and are separated from God by their sin, and the gospel is that eternal salvation is available in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone;
Everyone who receives Christ by faith receives the Spirit of God who transforms each believer into a new creation in Christ;
The Holy Spirit joins believers together into the Body of Christ, and He gives ministry gifts to each one in order to build up the Body of Christ, as each believer serves the others with truth and grace;
Jesus Christ established and is the head of the church, and has commanded believers to love God before all and with all that we are, and to share the gospel of Jesus to the ends of the earth and make disciples in all nations;
Jesus is coming again to gather up His church to Himself in heaven forever; and
SISTER Ministries is an extension of the Body of Christ to serve women formerly incarcerated by sharing the good news with them, teaching them how to follow Jesus together as members of His Body, and serving each one in Jesus’ name until He comes.
